Food from Around the World
An honest opinion on Universal Yums.
This month for my birthday on January 13th, I got two boxes of snacks from around the world. I’ve always been interested in Korean snacks and have been wanting to try new foods and expand what I have tasted so far. The box is called Universal Yum and I will get a new one every month. I specifically decided to try Universal Yums because of the ads about it and the variety. It is a box that is a surprise, but if you go into Universal Yums website you can find what it comes with.
I was very excited because I have always loved Korean foods. For this blog post I will be reviewing the South Korean snack box, which has 10-12 food items you can try from sweet to salty. Come along with me as I try, review, and rank them 1 through 10. Come and see, will I like it or will I not?
The ranking from 1/10 means that if it's a “1” I would never eat it again, and a “10” means I I could eat it at all times.
Peach Gummy: 7/10
I liked it. It was sweet but it did not have a lot of flavor. It was hard, not soft. The best time to eat this peach gummy is as a light snack or a dessert.
Cosmos Chocolate Puffs: 8/10
This is a snack that is crunchy and soft. They were sweet but a little bit like an unflavored chickpea chocolate puff.
Pine Bud Drink: 2/10
I personally did not like it at all. It was bitter and a little bit sweet. It literally smelled like a pine tree.
Choco Pie: 9/10
A sweet chocolate marshmallow and a granola patty. It was like ice cream with a cookie but not frozen.Over all it was pretty good.
Kpop Popcorn: 7/10
A popcorn that's a little bit spicy and a small bit sweet over all it is a very good small snack.
Lotte Pepero Snowy Almond Sticks: 8/10
It was hard bread sticks with a creamy snow white chocolate and almond chunks. I personally liked it because you could not really taste the almond and it had this rich and creamy taste.
Overall this entire box is filled with so many good snacks for whatever mood you are in. You can try new things and eat different foods throughout the day or whenever you are feeling it.
My opinion so far is that it was definitely worth the money and there are so many more countries to try later on. I definitely recommend this box for whatever country's snacks you would like to try.
Whenever you are feeling like trying something new you can always try the snack boxes from Universal Yums and the benefit of trying new foods is if you don't like it than you always know that you don't, but if you do like it you can experience that food or different food throughout your lifetime.
