Local artists bring vibrancy to our communities. They hold up a mirror to our actions and values, illustrating our lives for our enjoyment and reflection.
As we contemplate art, share it with others, and even participate in it, we discover who we are and where we are going.
There are infinite forms of art: painting, drawing, sculpture, ceramics, crafts, poetry, creative writing, filmmaking, dance, theater, photography, digital art, and much more.
Your job this week is to find any LOCAL artist in your community and interview them. *For this prompt, an artist is someone who is trying to make a profession out of their work (not someone who does art for fun or a hobby).
Here is what you want to uncover:
How did they get into art? What is their journey? What is their story as an artist?
What kind of art do they do? Choose a couple pieces to highlight in your article. Can they provide pictures of examples for your article?
Why is art important to them and their role in the community?
Guidelines:
Your article must be at least 500 words, but there is no maximum word count. So go crazy :)
Make sure to get permission from your parents to complete this prompt since you will be interviewing people you do not know.
