A Journey to Snack Treasures
The ultimate guide to your next snack haul.
I have always been a snacker. After school, I always see myself walking up to the treasure chest, the pantry and searching for new things to snack on. Maybe, my mom bought some new chips or gummies. On other days I will go with my mom on a hunt for new snacks that have just come in. So, as a snack expert here is the list of snacks so your next snack haul would be a success.
1. Banana Kick

This puff snack has gone viral after Blackpinks Jennie saying it is one of her favorite snacks. Once you open your bright yellow package, the sweet scent of banana will greet you, getting you ready to finish the bag in one sitting. After you take one out and take a bite, the light airy crunch will get you ready for the “kick” of the fun banana flavor. Finish the bag and your next hat-trick will be waiting for you.
2. Hello-Kitty Marshmallow

These marshmallows were always my favorite since I was little. Every time my mom takes me grocery shopping I will run up to the snack aisle to see if there are any new flavors. Also, because they don’t have any crumbs flying out everywhere, it is car-ride approved and can be perfect for your next road trip. The marshmallows aren’t just the boring white ones you roast in a camp fire. Once you take one of those soft snowballs out of the packet, the fruity scent of the marshmallow will get you more excited to finish the whole bag. When you take a bite, it will feel like biting into a cloud with a sweet jam inside. Also, don’t worry about getting sick of the flavors because they come in a variety of flavors from classic strawberry to even matcha.
3. Home Run Balls

Have you ever craved cream puffs, but couldn’t eat a lot because of its size or because it got messy? Then these chocolate filled, puff pastry shell snacks are perfect. They are very small and instead of cream that overflows and gets messy, home-run balls are filled with chocolate. The shell is just like a cream puff with its light but crunchy texture. Take this to the next baseball game and once you finish the pack you will have the energy to hit a home run!
(Tip:put it in the air fryer for a short time to get a warm and runny texture for the chocolate :D)
4. GoRaeBop

I'm sure if you had all your sweet snacks you will be craving savory snacks. GoRaeBap, which literally translates to whale food, might sound weird at first, but trust me once you dive into it there’s no going back. They are tiny and come in fun shapes of ocean creatures. There is seasoning on the outside that is savory with a hint of a seafood taste. Being hollow inside gives it an extra crunch.
5. Mogu Mogu

To end your snack journey, you will need a nice drink as a celebration. Mogu Mogu will be waiting for you to quench your thirst. These drinks come in many different flavors like lychee, pineapple, and grape. To add a little twist to them, they have chewy coconut jelly in them so you can have extra fun with it. If you like the drink even cooler they’re even an ice cream version of it. It comes in a pouch and has a nice slushy texture. So, the next time you need something to cool off, Mogu Mogu will be your go to drink.
Over the years Asian snacks and food has taken over the internet. From simple candy to even traditional food. For some of us, these might be childhood snacks, just like how they are to me. However, for some of us it might take a lot of time just to know what kind of snacks they are. So, next time you go to the Asian grocery store, remember to bring this guide with you!
