Contest Theme: “Got a strong opinion?”

Contest Prompt:

Share your hot take on a controversial or surprising topic in your niche. Create a blog post, video, or podcast episode.

Deadline:

Due by August 31st @ 11:59pm.

Guidelines:

• You must be enrolled in the Teen Journal Journey program to compete in writing contests

• 350-500 words or 2-3 minute video/podcast episode

• Start with a bold opening sentence

• Back up your opinion with examples, logic, or experience

• End with a question or call to action for the reader

• Be respectful, even when being bold

• Acknowledge opposing views (and explain why you disagree)

• Add a catchy, opinion-based title

• Must include 3 or more pictures if writing a blog post

• Must use this template to submit your content

Prizes:

• 1st place: $25 + 2,000 points

• 2nd place = 1,000 points

• 3rd place = 500 points
