The Pool Party
A fun day that took a… cold…turn.
I woke up from my warm bed and the moment I opened my eyes I knew today was going to be a great day. First of all, my friends, Johnny, Nathan, Ayan, and Taher were coming to my house to hang out. We did the usual things like playing video games, football and some board games. Eventually we got pretty bored all looking at each other and we didn’t know what to do.
My friend, Johnny, who always tries to rage bait me and my friends, suddenly asked us, “Do you guys wanna go swimming?”
We had nothing else to do so we all agreed and we set off to go swim. We didn’t realize how freezing and ominous today was until the moment we arrived at the pool in our yard.
The second we put our toes in the pool we knew that today was the worst day to go swimming. There was a cold wind hitting us in our faces and clouds covering the sun, showing obvious signs of rain. Nathan, Ayan, Taher, and I all looked at each other thinking the same thing, except Johnny who had a mischievous look on his face.
Nathan, who had his eyebrows raised and one eye less open than the other look on his face and put his arms on his waist, asked Johnny, “watcha thinking ‘bout?”
“Nothin’” Johnny replied, looking away and smiling to himself thinking that we couldn’t see him.
After cleaning the pool of leaves and pollen Johnny told me to go to the edge , look at the water, and see if there were any bugs. We all knew what he was going to do. I told my friends, Ayan, Nathan, and Taher to get ready to throw him into the death pool.
The moment I went to look at the edge Johnny came charging at me looking like a crazy person.
I sidestepped him, and the moment I did that I yelled, “NOW!”
The rest of my friends came charging to the rescue and hit Johnny smack in the middle of his chest like a train wreck. Johnny went flying and screaming, plunging into the freezing cold water. Everyone was laughing except Johnny who was cold as a polar bear. We all made a joke about it later saying that he looked like the enemy falling off a cliff and plunging to his death. Everyone found it funny except Johnny (obviously).
When it was time for everyone to return to their houses we still couldn’t stop thinking and laughing about what happened that day. I guess today was an awesome day just like I thought it was going to be.
